  1. Pawns moves one square straight ahead.
  2. Lances move any number of squares straight ahead.
  3. Knights (N) jump two squares forward then one square to either side.
  4. Silvers move one square diagonally or one square forward.
  5. Golds move one square in any direction except diagonally backwards.
  6. Bishops move diagonally any number of squares.
  7. Rooks move forwards, backwards or sideways any number of squares.
  8. Kings move one square in any direction.
  9.  
  10. Promoted Pawns, Lances, Knights and Silvers move like Golds.
  11. Promoted Bishops and Rooks can move normally, or like Kings.
